#1: Burning beeswax cleans AND purifies the air you breathe! Beeswax releases negative ions into the air when heated. These negative ions are said to relieve stress, boost energy and alertness levels, reduce the amount of dust mites and dander in the air, and they may help protect against airborne germs by attaching to positively charged ions that are holding other contaminants airborne. Many competitors candles are made of paraffin or soy wax. Burning and/or melting paraffin releases at least 11 known toxins—two of which are carcinogens—into the air. Carcinogens are known to cause cancer in some people. Soy candles will spoil without preservatives. Additives, bleach and hardeners are common ingredients of soy candles. Also, soy candles are mostly made from genetically modified soy crops that are heavily sprayed with toxic pesticides.
#2: They last longer because they burn slower! Beeswax has the highest melting point of any wax. This makes them last anywhere from 2-5 times longer than other candles. So they actually end up being much more cost effective.
Coming from the honeycomb of the honey bee, beeswax is a completely all natural substance. Beeswax is formed by the worker bees (all females) which secret it through 8 wax-producing mirror glands on the inner sides of their abdomen. These mirror glands are the reason for the honeycomb shape.
Honey bees consume honey and pollen to produce the wax. It takes about eight pounds of honey to produce just one pound of beeswax.
Beeswax is a 100% natural fuel created by bees and is naturally scented by the honey and nectar of flowers packed into the honeycombs.
Beeswax candles burn brighter, longer, and cleaner than another other wax candle. The flame emits essentially the same light spectrum as the sun and in the process of burning emits, negative ions that are known to clean the air and invigorate the body.
Beeswax candles in their pure form have a slightly sweet honey aroma to them, making them the perfect candle for anyone who has allergies or is sensitive to strong scents.
